Pistons take down Warriors even as Curry dazzles

The Golden State Warriors were defeated for the second time in three games as the Detroit Pistons routed them by 113-95.

Just as Detroit Pistons forward Marcus Morris grew accustomed to looking up at the Golden State Warriors in the standings, he can be proud for holding his giving the reigning champions a thumping.

“I’ve seen them a lot. That’s one of the best performance I ever had against them. I thought (Andre Drummond) did a great job and I thought our bench played pretty well,” Morris said.

The sellout crowd in the Palace of the Auburn Hills were delighted as their team gave the Warriors (37-4) their first loss of the season with their starting lineup intact.

The Pistons took their largest lead of the game at 25 points, with a score of 101-76 when Reginald Shon “Reggie” Jackson scored on a short jumper with 7:03 remaining in the game.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also took advantage of MVP Steph Curry and defended him for most of the night to score 20 points.

However, even as Caldwell-Pope added on three steals, Curry managed to take 38 points, including a 32-foot heave that was all net.

Pistons may have won the game, but Curry still drew praise from the Pistons with his 38-point performance.

“As he caught it, I was thinking, ‘There’s no way he’s going to shoot this,’” Pistons Jackson said.

“It was pretty scary that he never reset his feet. It was an off-rhythm catch and the guy is just unreal, probably the best shooter to play the game — and rightfully so, he should be mentioned in that category.”
